Claire is the assistant managing editor at the Schuster Institute for Investigative Journalism at Brandeis University. Her responsibilities include program administration, graphic and multi-media content creation, social media management, and web maintenance. She is a contributing writer to SOCO Magazine, where she writes a monthly political column. Claire spent much of her adult life in Mauritius, having moved there in 1988 to live with her husband, Veenaye. They have two children, Sarah and Shane. In 2003, Claire and her family returned to the U.S.
