Claire contributes political commentary to SOCO Magazine, a monthly publication focusing on issues and stories of interest to New England communities. Since 2006, she has written numerous regular columns and feature articles for SOCO and others as a freelance writer on a broad range of topics, including the performing arts, real estate, home and garden, lifestyle, and more.
Claire's work as managing editor for SOCO included editorial management, editing, and administrative functions related to advertisers, subscriptions, and delivery.
Prior to working for SOCO, Claire worked for more than two years as a technical writer and copyeditor for Hewlett-Packard Company. She liaised with various persons within the company (via NetMeeting, teleconference, and e-mail), obtained technical content, wrote new documentation, proofread and copyedited draft copies, and finally, stored documents on-line for user access. She updated intranet web pages as documentation was revised, copyedited weekly and monthly newsletters, and managed a library of FAQs.
